We asked this month's Student of the Month, Tremar Nash, to tell us a little bit about himself.

1. I moved here from Jamaica three years ago. I'm glad I moved here because there are more opportunities, but I miss the beaches, and I miss my family and friends.

2. I have experienced two hurricanes: Hurricane Ivan and Hurricane Charlie. In Jamaica, the houses need to be built to be appropriate for hurricane weather.

3. I once sang a Bob Marley song in front of my English class for an assignment.

4.I run the 100-meter and 200-meter for the track team. My biggest challenge is that I’m always nervous before the meets. I like to do other sports beforehand to help me overcome being nervous.

5. My favorite book is Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe.

6. I want to go to Rutgers University to study engineering.

Students are selected each month by administrators based on faculty nominations.
